AFESIP Cambodia

AFESIP is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-religious organization established to care for and secure the rights of women and girls victimized by or being at risk of human trafficking and sex slavery. The organization provides holistic care and recovery for those rescued, educate and reintegrate the women and girls into the community.

Shams Shahabuddin Convalescent Home

Shams Shahabuddin Convalescent Home offers free stay, medical care & expense for the poorest of Mayo Hospital patients-a caring place for the sick & needy

The Lahore Hospital Welfare Society was established in 1936 by a group of Hindu and Muslim ladies of Lahore who started the Convalescent Home for patients of the Mayo Hospital. After partition the Hindu ladies left and the remaining group was joined by some more members under the leadership of Begum Justice Shams Shahabuddin who with untiring efforts laid the foundations of the present Home which was named after her when she passed away.

The Shams Shahabuddin Convalescent Home is a success story of people helping people. It embodies a tradition of service and devotion spanning over a century. It is a worthwhile cause if ever there was one. And – it is right in your back yard.

This 150-bed hospital is situated within the premises of Mayo Hospital, Lahore. Since its birth as a modest 21 – bed facility in 1936, thousands of patients have passed through its doors. Once they are admitted to the Home, their entire stay is absolutely free. The poorest of the poor who come to Mayo Hospital for treatment are referred to the Home. Here they receive free diagnosis, treatment, medicines, nursing care, board and lodging.

Many of our patients are undergoing treatment for cancer, orthopedic issues, cardiac ailments or polio.

Animals Asia

Founded in Hong Kong in 1993, Animals Asia is devoted to ending the barbaric practice of bear bile farming and improving the welfare of animals in China and Vietnam. The organisation promotes compassion and respect for all animals and work to bring about long-term change.

Big Life Foundation

Using innovative conservation strategies and collaborating closely with local communities, partner NGOs, national parks and government agencies, Big Life Foundation seeks to protect and sustain East Africa’s wild lands and wildlife, including one of the greatest populations of elephants left in East Africa. Big Life Foundation was founded in September 2010.

Bombay Natural History Society (BHNS)

Bombay Natural History Society (BHNS) is a membership-driven organisation that has been promoting the cause of a natural India for the past 130 years since 1883. The Society’s guiding principle has always been that conservation must be based on scientific research. BHNS is also designated as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Dian Fossey Foundation

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International is dedicated to the conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. In collaboration with government agencies and other international partners, the fund also provides assistance to local communities through education, health, training and development initiatives.

Gorilla Doctors

Gorilla Doctors is dedicated to saving the mountain gorilla species one gorilla patient at a time. The Gorilla Doctors international veterinarian team provides hands-on medical care to sick and injured mountain gorillas living in the national parks of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Save Our Street Dogs

Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD) is unified by the common passion and conviction to be the voice of homeless strays, to champion their cause and to bring about a positive change in their lives. SOSD focuses on advocating for the strays, and assisting in managing the integration and acceptance of mongrels in society; with the mission to save the street dogs and give them a chance in life.

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is a registered animal welfare charity with IPC status in Singapore and their objectives are to prevent cruelty to animals and birds and to promote kindness to animals and birds through education, advocacy and action.

The Corbett Foundation

The Corbett Foundation (TCF) was established by Mr. Dilip D.Khatau in India as a non-profit, non-government organisation and a charitable trust in 1994.  The foundation is entirely dedicated to the cause of wildlife conservation, environmental awareness, community outreach programmes, tribal welfare and sustainable development initiatives. One of the main areas of conservation that TCF undertakes is in the conservation of the Bengal Tiger.

The Orangutan Project

The Orangutan Project (TOP) is the world’s foremost not-for-profit organisation, supporting orangutan conservation, rainforest protection, local community partnerships and the rehabilitation and reintroduction of displaced orangutans back to the wild, in order to save the two orangutan species from extinction.

Voices for Animals

Voices for Animals is a self – funded home that takes in breeding dogs that have been abandoned by puppy farms. They rely on small adoption fees and donations to keep the dogs. The home was started by Derrick Tan and is run by volunteers who love dogs.

Animal Aid Unlimited

Animal Aid Unlimited was set up to help street animals in India.

In India, although animals are protected by law, but when they have problems, there is little option as help for street animal is not available in most cities without the infrastructure of a hospital and ambulance. Animal Aid Unlimited runs a vital emergency rescue service for street animals – dogs, cows, donkeys, birds, and cats – in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.

WECare Worldwide

WECare Worldwide is a UK registered charity (1162386) set up by veterinary surgeon, Janey Lowes, from the Westway Veterinary Group in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in October 2014. Their mission is to provide veterinary care for less fortunate animals around the world, starting in Sri Lanka.

Currently they have a team of veterinary surgeons and nurses from the UK volunteering in Sri Lanka to provide a high level of veterinary expertise to animals who don’t have access to any other form of healthcare. They provide all their expertise for FREE but still have to cover medicine and food costs.

Painted Dogs or Wild Dogs

Their vision is to create an environment where the painted dogs can thrive. Conservation through Action and Education is their mantra.

African wild dogs, also known as painted dogs, are incredibly social creatures. They live in carefully organized packs in which each dog has a specified job, from hunter to pup baby-sitter. The dogs rely on each other and are one of the only wild species to care for their sick and old.

African wild dogs used to range across Africa, with 500,000 dogs in 39 countries. Impacted by poaching, road kills, and mining and logging that destroy habitat, now only 6,600 dogs are thought to remain. Zimbabwe, where Painted Dog Conservation (PDC) is headquartered, is one of the last strongholds.

Exclusively Mongrels

Founded by non-pedigree dog owners who recognise that these dogs are neither inferior nor superior to pedigrees, Exclusively Mongrels supports and promotes the welfare of mongrels. This non-profit organization provides medical provisions, promotes pet ownership through adoption drives and rescues and places strays in foster homes.

Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service Inc (WIRES)

Founded in 1985, WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation, rescuing and caring for wildlife. With a mission to actively rehabilitate and preserve the wildlife, WIRES has a growing team of 3,000 volunteers responding to around 170,000 calls annually for advice and assistance on animal rescue and care.

Sustentare Inc (Projecto Oncafari)

Founded in 2011, Projecto Oncafari is a conservation initiative that aims to promote ecotourism in the Pantanal (Brazil) by habituating Jaguars in order to educate people by allowing them to witness the fascinating behaviour of these animals. Its work have significantly impacted the Ecotourism model in the Brazilian Pantanal.

Cambodian Children’s Fund

Founded in 2004, Cambodian Children’s Fund provides life-changing education, nourishment and healing to vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities. Today, the non-profit organisation cares for more than 1,800 students and 10,000 people annually after extending services to provide to entire families and communities in crisis.

Children's Aid Society (Melrose Home)

Children’s Aid Society is among the oldest philanthropic organisations in Singapore, having been formed in the late 1890s as the St Nicholas Home. Melrose Home provides a supportive environment for children between the ages of 3 to 18 years old, a “home away from home” for children and teenagers who need care and protection in a residential setting. These are children whose parents or family members are unable to provide care or to supervise them.

End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation (ECSAF)

The End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation (ECSAF) was founded in 1998 in Hong Kong by Ms Siao Fong Fong, an internationally renowned actress and a qualified child psychologist/ therapist, with the mission to protect youngsters under 18 from sexual abuse.

Methodist Children and Youth Centre Community Services Society

Methodist Children and Youth Centre (MCYC) Community Services Society works with children with learning issues; youths with emotional and psychological issues, and at-risk behaviours; parents and families.

Morning Star Foundation

Morning Star Foundation works primarily in China and Uganda, caring for orphaned, abandoned and needy children with severe heart diseases. The foundation seeks out the best medical and surgical treatment available for each of the children.

Sanctuary House

Founded in 2005, Sanctuary House is a non-profit, grassroots organisation that provides foster care to children deprived of family care for various social reasons and providing support to families where children are at risk of being separated from their families.

The Global Fund for Children

Based in the United States, the Global Fund for Children transforms the lives of children on the edges of society—trafficked children, refugees, child labourers—and help them regain their rights and pursue their dreams. Since 1997, the fund has reached nine million children worldwide.

Cannossaville Children's Home

Canossaville Children and Community Services (Canossaville) runs an integrated Preschool and Student Care Centre in the Aljunied-MacPherson area for people of all faiths and religions. Their programmes cater to both mainstream, as well as those with additional needs, giving priority to the poorest living in the lower income neighbourhoods.

Beautiful People SG Ltd

Beautiful People is a volunteer-led organisation that aims to build mentoring relationships that change the lives of the marginalised.

Donations will go directly to their mentorship programmes with their mentees in residential rehabilitation homes and women’s prisons, as well as young families and female ex-offenders.

Tana River Life Foundation (TRLF)

The Tana River County is one of the least developed and remote areas of Kenya, with a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population that has several times in the past been affected by tribal violence.  TRLF aims to empower people there so that they can independently make a better life for themselves and their larger communities with dignity.  They do this through assisting students and youth in the Tana Delta.

E2stem

E2STEM Education Ltd, Singapore was founded in 2016 by Dr Seet Ai Mee, former Minister of State for Education, Singapore. E2STEM, a techno-New Generation School (NGS) under the MOEYS education reform agenda, was provided school  facilities at the Preah Yukunthor High School, Phnom Penh. E2STEM aims to train young Cambodians to be professionals who will in turn help to transform Cambodia into a developed nation.  E2Stem will be running a hybrid programme, comprising 3 years of senior high school (Grades 10-12) conducted in Khmer (following the Cambodia national school curriculum), followed by 2 years of an  internationally recognised diploma in engineering/technology conducted in English.

EDIS Cares

EDIS Cares is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Economic Development Innovations Singapore Pte Ltd (EDIS). This effort began in 2014 in response to EDIS Chairman Mr Philip Yeo’s desire to create opportunities for underprivileged children to fulfil their full potential, and to do so by having adult volunteers provide mentorship for an extended period.

In the past 5 years, EDIS Cares has impacted over 400 children in partnership with 9 charities, and through close to 350 volunteers.

Darussafaka Society

Founded in 1863 with the aim of providing equality of opportunity in education to needy, talented children who had lost their fathers, Darussafaka Society opened its doors in 2012 to include children who have lost their mothers. The Society raises funds through donations to finance the school, providing full scholarship and boarding, including daily needs from a student’s fifth year through to the end of high school.

Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC)

Founded in 2005 by a young Nepali woman at the age of 21, ECDC is a non-governmental, non-profit organization aims at providing a homely environment for the children living in prison with their parents. The organization also rescues children from jail cells and provides them with their needs and care which include medical check-ups and education.

Fundasaun Visaun Foinsa'E

A foundation established to serve as a youth development programme for Timorese youths aged 18 to 26 years. Its core curriculum includes spiritual guidance, civic-mindedness, character-building, peace-building and work ethics with fundamental office skills as well as skills and internship opportunities in the hospitality industry.

Bright Vision Hospital

Bright Vision Hospital (BVH) is a community hospital offering intermediate and long-term care services to about 1,200 new patients a year. The hospital provides a fully integrated healthcare programme that serves the patients’ physical, psychological, spiritual and social well-being. BVH also serves as a training and education center for professionals and the public in community care for the elderly and informed.

Geylang East Home For The Aged

Founded in 1978, the Geylang East Home For The Aged is a community home managed fully by a team of dedicated volunteers. It provides a place with proper care and facilities to needy elderly. It also provides financial and personal support to those who are old and weak.

PERTAPIS Senior Citizens Fellowship Home

The PERTAPIS Senior Citizen Fellowship Home was set up with the assistance of the National Council of Social Services and the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, to meet the demands of providing a sheltered home for elderly destitute. The Home has residential facilities catering to the needs of 40 ambulant senior citizens.

Society for the Aged Sick

Founded in 1968, Society for the Aged Sick is a non-profit organization with the aim to provide quality care to the aged sick and destitute and to help the aged sick and destitute lead a meaningful and enriching life.

Sree Narayana Mission Home for the Aged Sick

Sree Narayana Mission Home for the Aged Sick is a nursing home setup by Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore) that provides those in need of an aged home with nursing services. Programmes such as financial assistance, facility-based service and day care have also been developed to provide better welfare services to needy and sick elderly.

St Luke's Eldercare Ltd

St Luke’s ElderCare was formed to provide a suite of day programmes for the seniors via its network of 12 centers. They aim to enhance the social, psychological and physical well-being of the seniors and their quality of life by providing a comprehensive, integrated and holistic range of day services.

Tai Pei Old People's Home

The Tai Pei Old People’s Home was set up with the objective to provide shelter and nursing care to female aged destitute, regardless of their race or religion. They currently support 180 beneficiaries. The home is administered by a management committee of 20 members.

The Singapore Cheshire Home

The Singapore Cheshire Home was founded in 1957 with the aim to provide a “home” for the care of the seriously disabled having no or limited means and whose families, if any, are unable to provide adequate care. Services provided at The Singapore Cheshire Home includes both residential care and day care services.

St John’s Home for Elderly Persons

Established in 1958, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons is a sheltered home for elderly persons who are ambulant and aged above 60, and homeless. Other than a shelter, the Home provides care and facilities to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the elderly.

Alpha Singapore

Alpha Singapore runs a series of Alpha courses designed primarily for people who are not churchgoers to understand the basics of Christian faith. Some of the courses developed include those for youths, elderly and prisoners; bringing these ex-offenders a second chance in life.

Anglican Welfare Services Singapore

Singapore Anglican Community Services reaches out to people in need, provide refuge and relief for the psychiatrically disabled and people in crises. The organisation aims to be an excellent caring Christian welfare organisation effectively accomplishing the total rehabilitation of those under their care.

Archdiocesan Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (ACMI)

ACMI is an organisation that provides social and legal assistance, counselling and befriending services to all migrant, foreign workers, students and transients. The organisation aims to respond to the pastoral needs of all migrants and itinerants in Singapore, regardless of race, language or religion.

Art Outreach Singapore

Art Outreach Singapore’s mission is to increase visual art literacy and to promote art appreciation in Singapore by offering an art education programme for primary and secondary school students, art events and presentations in the community, art tours for the public, as well as developing a body of well-trained and committed volunteers to serve as art advocates, providing a vital resource in the community.

Community Chest, Singapore

Community Chest was established in 1983 with a simple yet vital mission: to raise funds for the nation’s many charities. Charities supported by Community Chest are then able to do what they are best at – providing critical social service programmes to help children with special needs, people with disabilities, frail and lonely elderly and families facing difficulties. Food from the Heart

Food from the Heart is an organisation that reaches out to the less-fortunate and brighten their lives by alleviating hunger through a food distribution programme and bringing joy through the distribution of toys and birthday celebrations. They have developed programmes such as the Bread Programme and Food Goodie Bag Programme to help those in need.

HOME

The Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (HOME) was created in September 2004 to respond to the special needs of migrant communities in Singapore. HOME believes that the rights to Dignity of Work, Dignity of Person and the Dignity of Life are fundamental human rights. Migrant populations in many countries are often discriminated when it comes to the protection of these rights. HOME seeks to uphold human dignity for all peoples wherever they come from.

Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre (Jurong)

Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre (Jurong) [LHMSCJ] is a non-profit voluntary welfare organisation (VWO) started in 2004 to serve the residents and community of Jurong Central Constituency and needy students through programmes and activities, with professionalism in promoting social and multi-racial community bonding.

Methodist Welfare Services

Methodist Welfare Services is the social service arm of The Methodist Church in Singapore that provides constant care to almost 6,000 needy persons in the community every month, regardless of race or religion, through its outreach centers throughout Singapore. They help three main groups of people in need; disadvantaged children and youths, families in distress and the elderly, sick and those with advanced illnesses.

National Kidney Foundation (NKF)

The NKF is a charitable organisation that provides dialysis treatment and rehabilitative care to kidney failure patients at affordable, subsidised rates. Besides caring for patients holistically and helping them maintain a reasonable quality of life, the NKF also provides health-screening and public education services to raise the community’s awareness on the importance of renal disease prevention.

Samaritans of Singapore

Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) is a non-profit and non-religious organisation which aims to provide 24-hour confidential emotional support to people in crisis, thinking of suicide or affected by suicide.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. The Salvation Army in Singapore helps needy people through its churches (corps) and a wide range of social and community programmes, including a nursing home, children’s homes, child care centres, elderly care and rehabilitation centre, prison support ministries and services, amongst many others.

Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2)

Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2) promotes equitable treatment for migrant workers in Singapore, help those in need and advocate better policies. TWC2 prides itself as a reliable help agency for migrant workers who encounter problems with their employers, a source of information for employers and the public, a center for generating action-oriented research and a credible advocate for a more enlightened regulatory framework.

Waterways Watch Society

Waterways Watch Society is a special, independent volunteer group, bringing people together to love our waters and to inspire stewardship for our environment.  They work towards promoting public awareness and concern for a clean environment in Singapore, particularly to keep the waterways and riverbanks in Singapore clean and free of pollution.

Mercy Relief Limited

Headquartered in Singapore, Mercy Relief is an independent, non-governmental humanitarian charity established to respond to human tragedies and disasters in Asia Pacific. It provides emergency aid in an aftermath of disaster, as well as provides development programmes aim to uplift and empower communities in water and sanitation, shelter, sustainable livelihoods, healthcare and education.

NUS (Duke-NUS) - Tan Cheng Lim Research and Education Fund

Established in honor of the respected late Professor Tan Cheng Lim, who was a Senior Consultant and Paediatrician with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the Fund aims to pioneer advances in paediatric medicine through patient-centered programmes, scholarships, and promoting innovative research. Professor Tan had spent his entire career in public health.

NCC Research Fund

Established in 2005, the NCC Research Fund serves as the flagship fundraising and grant-making channel of the Centre by providing seeding and bridging funds for an array of translational and clinical research programmes. It helps scientists’ kick-start worthy and emerging research projects, provides funding between government grant cycles when the need arises and enhance research related capabilities and tools.
